Reef System Advanced

This program calculates the amount of components I, II, III required to maintain Calcium, KH and Magnesium at the desired values. Simplifies dosing of Reef System Advanced components and helps maintain stable values. We recommend performing the calculation once to find the initial dosage and then repeating the tests at regular intervals.
Stable values in the aquarium help to have healthy and growing corals.

Calcium replenishment:

To calculate the dosage of Reef System Advanced I, perform two calcium tests within a few days of each other, then fill in the following form.
mg/l (ppm)
mg/l (ppm)
days
ml (enter 0 if you are not dosing anything)
ml/h

[*]  Enter this value if your peristaltic pump is not equipped with an integrated computer that calculates the dosing time automatically. If you have a programmable peristaltic pump that allows direct entry of the value in ml to be dosed, do not fill in this field. The calculation will return an "Infinity" value and should not be taken into account.

Carbonates replenishment:
To calculate the dosage of Reef Syetem Advanced II, run two KH tests a few days apart, then fill in the following form. If you are using a meq/l test, please convert it by multiplying the result by 2.818 (1 meq/l = 2.818 dKH)

Oceanlife Water 1.2

This program allows you to prepare seawater using Supreme Liquid Salt in 3 components

‰ [standard value for corals 35‰ (ppt) (sg 1.026), for fish 28‰ (ppt) (sg 1.021)]

To obtain the desired amount of water, place the following amount of osmosis water in a container, and add the recommended quantities of Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 in sequence, keeping the water moving with a pump and waiting for a few seconds between one addition and the other so that the solution returns limpid.

Oceanlife Water Salinity Converter

This software allows you to convert basic marine water data between different units of measurement. The data is calculated at the surface.

  • The direct calculation from Salinity (‰ - ppt) to Density (g/l or kg/m3) / Specific Gravity is based on the equation adopted by UNESCO - The One Atmosphere International Equation of the State of Seawater (Millero and Poisson, 1981).
  • The inverse calculation, from Specific Density / Gravity to Salinity, is performed by the solution for iterative methods of the reverse equation of Millero and Poisson.
  • The calculation from Conductivity to Salinity / Density / Gravity Specification is performed according to the complex polynomial equation adopted by UNESCO/ICES/SCOR/IAPSO. In this case, the values are reliable for the resulting salinity between 2 and 42 and a temperature between -2 °C and 35 °C.
  • The Conductivity calculation is performed through the solution for iterative methods of the reverse equation adopted by UNESCO/ICES/SCOR/IAPSO.
  • Salinity values are expressed in "Practical Salinity" (?)

(usually it is equal to the temperature of the sea water)

PSU (g/kg - ppt - ‰)
g/l (value read on the densimeter) (?)
(value read on the refractometer) (?)
mS/cm (value read on the conductivity meter)
