Silico OH-

Information

Ion Exchange Resin for the Removal of Negative Ions, Specifically Silicates in Reverse Osmosis Water
Silico OH- is a resin designed for removing negative ions, particularly silicates.
Silicate is one of the most challenging ions to remove and requires a specific resin. By placing this resin at the outlet of reverse osmosis systems, it is possible to minimize diatom problems when starting up tanks and drastically reduce the input of silicates during water top-offs. It should be used only at the outlet of reverse osmosis systems.

Instructions

Place the contents of the package into a refillable cartridge and then inside the filter (vessel) at the outlet of the reverse osmosis system. The resin is preserved with a preservative liquid that may have a pungent odor. Do not sniff. Upon first use, rinse with osmotic water or discard a volume of water equal to 6 times the amount of resin used. Using only Silico OH-, which is 100% active resin, it is normal to observe a slight increase in conductivity and pH between the inlet and outlet of the resin. To check when the resin is exhausted, use a conductivity meter or TDS meter.
