Natural PO4 and NO3 reducer
Ultra Carbon stimulates the reproduction of some species of bacteria to
naturally reduce, at the same time, the content of PO4 and NO3 from the
aquarium water. This method is very efficient, especially in conjuction with
the use of Oceanlife Biogenesi and is based on the Carbon-Phosphorous-Nitrogen
ratio inside the cells of the growing bacteria. The excess of bacteria will be
removed by the skimmer to complete the system cycle and remove a great quantity
of pollutants. This method is really reliable and cost effective compared with
other systems like biopellets because of its dosing simplicity and zero
electrical costs.

Detailed:
Dosages for Ultra Carbon may vary depending of the
existing pollutants. If it's the first time you use Ultra Carbon, dose
1ml/100L for the first week.
If the levels of NO3 and PO4 are over 10 ppm and 0,05 ppm respectively,
increase the dose of 0.5ml/100L per week up to a maximum of 3ml/100L.
Perform water tests weekly. When values are near to 5 ppm of NO3 and 0.03 ppm
of PO4, reduce the dosage. Vary the dose according to the increase or decrease
of NO3 and PO4.
For the first period you may see an increase in the skimmer activity, with more
product whose smell is stronger. Your water is being purified and the system is
reacting.
If one of the two pollutants is strongly unbalanced compared to the other one,
and one of the two is near zero, use a resin to lower the highest one and then
keep values stable and low with Ultra Carbon.
You may notice an higher consumption of carbonates (KH). This is normal.
